March 12, 2020
The Hub on Smith will be closing their on-site meals program (i.e. breakfast and lunch), exercise, social activities and the Day Break, Adult Day Center beginning Friday, March 13, 2020. The Board of Directors made this decision at a special meeting today based on information from a variety of resources. Closure of these service areas is in an effort to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 to the people the organization serves on a daily basis.
The closure of these services will be reassessed in two to three weeks.
The Hub will continue to provide their many other services including Home Delivered Meals, Transportation, and Help at Home. Services and Supports for Family Caregivers, the Loan Closet and Housing Assistance will be available via phone. Call our Support Center for specific information.
The Hub will continue to follow the outbreak of the Coronavirus (i.e. COVID-19) and remain in communication with the Wyoming Department of Health, Sheridan County Emergency Management Team, Sheridan Memorial Hospital and the local Veterans Administration. We are also checking updates and information generated from the Centers for Disease Control on a regular basis.
We are asking people to stay home and contact their medical provider if they show signs of a respiratory infection including fever over 100 degrees, cough, sore throat and shortness of breath or have been in contact with someone who has COVID – 19 or is under investigation for COVID-19.
We will continue to provide updates on our website, social media and with local media outlets. Our goal is to take reasonable and prudent steps to limit exposure to COVID-19 and to work in collaboration with other community organizations. We are hoping that we be back serving our patrons in all areas in the not too distant future.
